Take the Center Stage – it won’t wait forever

Okay , this is not exactly today’s topic in Daily Post Prompt, but it is something I could write without leaving a break in between words to think. Cause the topic goes like ..

Are you comfortable in front of people, or does the idea of public speaking make you want to hide in the bathroom? Why?

Speaking in public sends shivers up the spine for many people. Well, for me too. 😉  But I always look forward to it, I simply enjoy it. The rush of nervousness before facing a crowd who is either expecting some quality stuff from you, or just waiting for a chance to see you embarrass yourself doesn’t matter.

It gives you double the amount of confidence , that it has sucked up moments before you step in front. In today’s -competitive-world as every x,y,z says, it is very important that you stand out and make a niche for yourself. You HAVE to be recognized if you don’t want to be merged among the crowd. The tool that you use might be anything, from dance to pubic speaking to painting. But I personally feel, it is always better to make your platform public than being behind the screens. But get the facts right , it is not only for recognition. No. You need it of course. But only if that’s what you’re looking for. In my case, when I’m asked to speak in front of a gathering – be it my University’s welcome address, vote of thanks, or JAM sessions at my workplace or to brief about a event you attended or to anchor an activity in your office bus with all the seniors giving weird looks at you or just to make a simple announcement.. I just tell myself  “You are the focus at the moment. Do not screw it up. Do not embarrass yourself.  “ 😀 😉 But in spite of the odds, I always go for it. Cause if you screw up, you are the joke of the day…but if you don’t – you are “the girl who spoke well that day!” 🙂
